Stars & Stripes
Thank you for your incredible support of our “Stars and Stripes” flag program over the past few years. Your participation has not only brought pride and patriotism to our neighborhoods, but it has also helped our Scouts grow in leadership, service, and civic responsibility.
After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the flag posting service. Our final posting will take place Memorial Day Weekend 2025.
If you would like to keep your flag and continue displaying it on patriotic holidays, you're more than welcome to do so. Just let us know before Memorial Day so we can make arrangements to leave your flag with you after the final holiday.
Although the program is coming to an end, the proceeds collected will continue to support our Scouts' “Duty to Country.” One such effort is an Eagle Scout Service Project that will create a dignified way for our community to retire worn flags. This project includes:
A flag retirement collection box at the Glendale Library,
A smokeless fire pit and benches at the Holt House (located directly behind the library)
An intake form to provide details about the flag and an option to request participation in the retirement ceremony.
An update to the Troop website to allow for the purchase of replacement flags.
Construction scheduled for the weekend of May 10th.
If you would like to make a final donation to help complete this meaningful project, your support would be greatly appreciated. Contributions will help cover the cost of materials and allow our Scouts to finish strong. Tax deductible contributions can be made here:
